Mediterranean Bluefin Tuna Flatbread

This quick and easy bluefin tuna flatbread recipe brings the fresh and vibrant flavours of the Mediterranean to your table. Made with Lukina’s Special Bluefin Tuna, juicy olives, fresh parsley and a rich tomato base, it’s a simple meal that’s packed with flavour and ready in under 30 minutes. 

Serves: 2 PRINT THIS
  • 2 can  Lukina’s Special Bluefin Tuna, drained
  • 2 flatbread (also works well with pita, focaccia, or pizza base)
  • ½  cup tomato passata
  • ½ tbsp tomato paste
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp sugar
  • ½ tbsp olive oil
  • ¼ cup, black olives
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • Optional: 
    • ¼ cup sliced red onion
    • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Method

1 Preheat your oven to 220°C

2 Combine tomato passata, tomato paste, salt, sugar, and ½ tbsp olive oil and mix until well combined.

3 Place bread or pizza base on a baking tray, then spread the tomato sauce evenly over the bread, leaving about a 1cm border at the edges.

4 Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce (if using).

5 Gently break Lukina’s Special Bluefin Tuna into chunks and scatter over bread, along with the black olives and red onion (if using).

6 Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the bread is nicely toasted at the edges.

7 Remove from the oven. Immediately sprinkle with the chopped fresh parsley, drizzle with a little olive oil, slice, and serve
