Bluefin Tuna Tartare with Avocado and Soy

Decadent, yet refreshingly simple, this Bluefin Tuna Tartare with Avocado and Soy is a refined dish that showcases the natural richness of Dinko’s premium sashimi-grade tuna. Balanced with the creaminess of avocado, the umami of soy, and a hint of citrus, it’s a perfect entrée for summer gatherings or elegant dinners.

Ingredients

  • 200g Dinko bluefin tuna loins
  • 1 ripe avocado, diced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • ½ tsp ginger, finely grated
  • 1 tsp chives, finely sliced
  • ½ tsp lime zest
  • Fresh lime juice, to taste
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Black or white sesame seeds, for garnish

Method

1 Pat the tuna dry with paper towels. With a sharp knife, dice it into small, uniform cubes. Place in a chilled bowl.

2 Add soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, grated ginger, chives, and lime zest. Toss gently to combine. Chill for 5–10 minutes.

3 Right before serving, dice the avocado and squeeze a small amount of lime juice over it to prevent browning. Lightly salt if desired.

4 Layer the avocado on a chilled plate. Gently spoon the tuna mixture on top.

5 Lightly sprinkle with sesame seeds and add optional toppings as desired. Serve immediately.
