Pan-Fried Prawn Skewers with Sriracha and Lime

The season of backyard BBQs, long lunches and decadent dinner parties is upon us. If you’re hosting a soiree this summer, make your life simple with this decadent dish that is simple and easy to prepare, but still brimming with deliciousness. These pan-fried prawn skewers are ready in just minutes and are the perfect starter or accompaniment to your main course. But you’d better make double because they’ll disappear quickly!

Serves: 6 PRINT THIS


  • 2 cloves of garlic, grated
  • Juice from 1/2 lime
  • Rind from 1/2 lime, grated
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 1/4 tbsps Sriracha sauce
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 500g Dinko Spencer Gulf King prawns, peeled
  • 9 bamboo skewers, soaked in water
  • Coriander, for serving


1 In a large bowl, add garlic, grated lime rind, cooking oil, Sriracha sauce, salt, brown sugar and lime juice. Using a fork, whisk to combine until smooth.

2 Add peeled and deveined prawns to the marinade and mix well. Place in fridge for 1-2 hours.

3 Thread 3-4 prawns onto each bamboo skewer.

4 Heat a cast iron pan on medium-high heat. When the pan is hot, grill prawn skewers for about 2 minutes on each side or until the prawns are cooked through.

5 Serve with fresh lime and coriander.
