Italian Tuna Salad

This light and tasty Italian Tuna Salad is delightfully simple to prepare and is perfect for a summer day.

  • 180g Dinko Southern Bluefin Tuna
  • 1 red capsicum, de-seeded and chopped
  • 1 red onion, finely sliced
  • 1 continental cucumber, sliced
  • 150g cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 16 kalamata olives
  • 2tbsp of chopped parsley
  • Oakleaf lettuce (or similar)
  • 1tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
  • 2tbsp of red wine vinegar
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • Sea Salt


1 Season Dinko Southern Bluefin Tuna with sea salt and pepper and rub it with a little olive oil. Cook tuna in a frying pan on medium to hot heat for approximately 2 minutes on each side. This will give you medium/rare for a 2cm thick steak. Set aside to cool.

2 Once cooled, separate the tuna into small chunks with a fork.

3 Place capsicum, onion, olives, tomato and cucumber in a bowl.

4 Add tuna chunks and sprinkle with parsley. Dress with olive oil and red wine vinegar and season with freshly ground black pepper. Toss gently to combine.

5 Arrange lettuce at the bottom of serving bowls and top with salad mix.
