Hawaiian Poke Recipe

Fresh and crunchy cabbage and radish are perfectly complemented by soft avocado and melt-in-your-mouth bluefin tuna in this traditional Hawaiian Poke Recipe.

Ingredients

Poke bowl:

  • 350g Dinko Southern Bluefin Tuna, diced into 1cm cubes
  • 2 cups seasoned sushi rice
  • 1 avocado, peeled and cut into 8 wedges
  • 1 cucumber, cut finely lengthways
  • ¼ small purple cabbage, finely sliced
  • 1 radish, finely sliced
  • 1 cup seaweed salad
  • Black sesame seeds

Ginger marinade dressing:

  • 1 1/2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 2 tsp dark soy
  • 2 1/2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp mirin
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 1/2 tsp chilli paste
  • 1 1/2 tsp fresh grated ginger

Method

1 Place all ginger marinade ingredients in a jar. Secure with lid and shake for 10 seconds. Set aside.

2 Divide rice between bowls. Top with cabbage, radish, avocado, seaweed and cucumber.

3 Pour dressing over tuna and toss, then immediately transfer onto the rice.

4 Sprinkle black sesame seeds as desired.

5 Drizzle over the remaining dressing then serve.
